Objective:
Leverage a strategic partnership to grow personal brand presence on YouTube and social media channels.
Overview:
In 2014, I identified an opportunity to collaborate with “Lyfe 2 The Max,” a YouTube channel featuring six different content creators, each contributing on a weekly rotation. This allowed for continuous engagement with their subscriber base, which translated into increased exposure for each individual member. I was responsible for creating two videos per week for six consecutive weeks, focusing on content that aligned with the channel’s theme while showcasing my personal style.
Key Contributions:
- Brand Partnership & Strategy: Initiated and executed a partnership with an established YouTube channel, gaining access to a broader audience. The collaboration successfully increased my personal subscriber count and Twitter engagement.
- Influencer Outreach & Negotiation: Coordinated with the channel’s founder, Ron Amos, to align the content strategy, schedule, and promotional efforts to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes. This also involved direct collaboration with other influencers within the network.
- Content Creation & Consistency: Created and uploaded 12 videos over the 6-week collaboration period. Each video contributed to the broader channel’s content flow, ensuring regular engagement with viewers and maintaining consistency in branding.
- Analytics & Performance Monitoring: Monitored the growth in my subscriber count and engagement metrics throughout the partnership. This data demonstrated a clear increase in reach and provided insights into content that resonated with audiences.
- Results: By the end of the collaboration, I experienced a significant increase in subscriber count and engagement on Twitter, validating the success of the partnership. The collaboration with “Lyfe 2 The Max” helped me build credibility within the YouTube community.
Impact Beyond the Project:
While I eventually shifted away from my role as a content creator, this experience helped hone my skills in brand partnerships, influencer outreach, and negotiation—skills I continue to apply in my marketing career. Notably, Ron Amos went on to become a professional dancer, and another member, Saul, became a successful entrepreneur and content creator, underscoring the impact of our collaborative work during this time.
This project highlights my foundational marketing skills, including:
- Brand Strategy
- Influencer Relationship Management
- Content Creation
- Engagement Analytics
- Partnership Coordination
- Negotiation and Collaboration
These are all directly applicable to roles in marketing, brand partnerships, and influencer management.
